Youth empowerment took center stage in Zaria as the Maria & Nora Foundation wrapped up its 3-week skill acquisition bootcamp held in Zaria metropolis. The program trained 150 young men and women in practical skills including digital marketing, fashion design, hairdressing, and small business management.
The initiative, part of the foundation’s Empower to Rebuild campaign, also included mentorship sessions, personal development workshops, and access to micro-grant opportunities. Upon completion, each participant received a starter kit relevant to their chosen skill and ongoing mentorship support from seasoned professionals.
“I never thought I’d have a chance to start my own business,” said Amina Muazu, one of the program’s beneficiaries. “Now, I have the tools, the knowledge, and the support to build something real.”
The foundation emphasized that economic empowerment is key to rebuilding communities and has committed to hosting more bootcamps across Nigeria in 2025 and 2026.
